1831 census
« on: Friday 26 September 08 08:18 UTC (UK) »

Hi there,

I am not sure if the 1831 are available for lookups, but would be most grateful if someone could try locate the following family:

John Roberts, Father, born abt 1766 Dover
Elizabeth, Mother
Charles W, son, born 1808, Dover
Augusta Sophia , daughter, born 1811 Dover
George Henry, son, born 1813 Dover
Rosina Mathilda, daughter, born 1816 Dover
Edward James, son, B1818 Dover

Kind regards
Jackie

very few pre-1841 census survive - and mostly they were purely statistical, with householders surname and a headcount - sometimes an occupation.

The list I have for Kent doesnt include Dover .... Deal has 1801 thru 1821 .... the only 1831's are Horsmondon, Ringwould, Sellinge, Shadoxhurst and Tenterden.

Kent Archives Office in Maidstone might have other local lists ?

try googling info about Kent - they may offer an email service.

Also - have you looked at the Kent Resources Board on here ?

Theres people local to the area who are members, doubtless someone will know more ....
