Death Michael Harlow
« on: Friday 26 September 08 14:07 UTC (UK) »

I have looked everywhere but cannot find the death of Michael Harlow.  He was 68 in the 1901 Census, living in Rosommon.  Would anybody be able to help me further?  His wife's name was Anne and she was 55 in 1901 and at that time they had 6 of their children living with them - I know there were more.  Any help would be really appreciated.

Deaths can often be trickier to find than births and marriages. You've looked 'everywhere'- exactly where? indexes to death registrations? headstones and burial records? 1911 census?

I cannot access 1911 census.  I have tried on all bmd sites (that I know of) and as many Roscommon sites that include burial information that I can find.  I think one of his daughters and one of his sones may have gone to America but find it hard to believe that he would have gone at his age - but nevertheless looked at relevant sites in America.  I still come up with nothing  Sad

Have you checked the burial records for the local church?- if he stayed in Ireland that's probably the most likely place he would have been buried.
Death indexes?- the 'real ones' not what might be online.
1911 census should be online eventually from National Archives, Dublin website and that might help narrow down date of death.
