i think Cornelia ? and Edmond Hyland are her parents (who had 4 more boys) and Sophy ? and Moses Baker are his parents (don't know if any more siblings) , Amelia born 1830 Joseph 1828 Ore, Sussex married 1849 in the area? who had Amelia 2 months at 1851 census Ore but no mention of Cuthbert yet (he is my great great grandfather) because what we know is born at sea and his parents died at sea? what happened to baby Amelia and why did both parents die but Cuthbert survived, 1891 census Hastings, Cuthbert says born at Eastbourne? he married Agnes Wall 1881 and owned? the clock house at 147 Queen's Road at Waterworks Road, Hastings selling wine/spirits/delicatecense, died 1936 so does any one know anything else about this Hyland, Baker and Wall family please

Clock House - 147 Queens Road - from Waterworks Road.
You can clearly see the entrance from Waterworks Road and the staircases to the various floors.
That is why it had two addresses - Queens Road / Waterworks Road, Hastings

Chris! did you just take those pics! i am so excited! yes, i saw that building last May/03 and we were assuming it was the Clockhouse but there is a reference of a Clockhouse also in St. Leonard's somewhere, i just saved them, thank you, will show my siblings

Yes, I took these photographs this lunchtime - wife was in the nearby Supermarket picking up a few bits and bobs, I had my camera in the car - so there you are.
This is definitely the clockhouse referred to on the corner of Waterworks Road & 147 Queens Road.
