JOHN SWARBRICK ROGERS - CHESTER
« on: Tuesday 11 April 06 17:18 UTC (UK) »

I am looking for any information on JOHN SWARBRICK ROGERS born 1773 Chester.  He died May 1834 and is buried in Chester, St Mary on the Hill.

I believe he was a Mayor of Chester 1821-1822.

I am looking for a marriage to ANN Unknown abt 1800-1805 Chester.

Children of John & Ann Rogers:

JOHN b.1804
FRANCES b.1808
WILLIAM b.1809
THOMAS b.1813

Has anyone got access to Chester Parish Records and have a look at this info for me?

I know John Rogers b.1804 married twice.  I don't have a record of the first wife, however the second was ELIZABETH ROBERTS(nee JONES) b.1805.

John & Elizabeth where both widow's when they married in 1841, they both had businesses in the Newgate Street area of Chester. Elizabeth had two children from her previous marriage.

John & Elizabeth had one daughter between them; Maria Rogers b.1842.
Maria married ROBERT HOGG of CHESTER - a descendant of the Berwick HOGG Family.

Hi Bryan

Thanks for that info, it must be the same John Swarbrick Rogers.

Catherine Harrrison, that must've been second wife?

I got Ann from the IGI listing for the children's births.

I have a copy of his will of 1834; I will go back and see if Catherine is mentioned. (will is very hard to read).

Thankyou for taking an interest.
