John WHITE and Mary STURGEON were the parents of my GG grandmother, Ann Jane WHITE who was born in Ardee in November 1835 and migrated to Brisbane, Australia in 1855. Extensive efforts on my part have so far failed to locate any record of the marriage of John and Mary or the birth of any other children. Can anyone help please?

Civil registration of Catholic marriages in Ireland started in 1864 while other marriages started in 1845, civil registration of births began in 1864 also- so it means you have to start searching for church records (if they exist).

On http://www.irish-roots.ie there are 29 matches for the baptism/birth of an Ann White in 1835 +/- 1 year, in an all-ireland search. Two of these are in Co. Louth. The index is free to search - to see the details costs €5.00

There are plenty of White's records but nothing in Louth for STURGEON, almost all of the record results for that name are in the Northern Counties with a few in Dublin.
