PRYKE Family - 1851/61 Census
« on: Friday 10 October 08 05:14 UTC (UK) »

Hello I would like to ask if the parish of Gazeley in 1851/61 census are missing or if they came under another Parish.  I am looking for a Richard Pryke who married a Caroline Louisa Halls in 1834 Gazeley. They had two children there which appear in the 1841 census but after that there is nothing.  George appears in the 1871 census in Cambridge saying he was born in Higham. I believe Gazeley was a hamlet of Higham. I would be grateful if you could find the parents of Richard or possibly find them on the 1861 census.
Thank you
Sheila

(Hi Dave  Smiley)

Really can't see any of them in 1851, nor George in 1861...

Caroline and Richard are still in Gazeley in 1871:
RG10/1599 43 12
Gazeley, Suffolk

Richard Prike, head, 60, Dealer, b. Barrow Suffolk
Caroline, wife, 50, Dressmaker, b. Higham

Caroline is widowed in 1881:

Thank you so much, I have looked and looked for these, its the spelling. I was wondering if there was any baptism of Richard, I have looked on IGI for Barrow now but no luck, I estimate he was born abt 1810/11. Thank you again

Hello I would like to ask if the parish of Gazeley in 1851/61 census are missing

The 1851 census return for Gazely is missing believed lost I'm afraid, as well as these nearby parishes.

Dalham, Exning, Higham, Lidgate, Newmarket St Mary, Moulton, Ousden.
