LEE's in kent england

hello to one and all. especially those reading this topic.
i am searching for a family friend who's ancestors were lee's. they mainly lived/travelled in kent and his name (unsure of correct pronounciation) was ''wooster'' lee. unsure of his wife, siblings or parents but do know one of his daughters was named unity (uni) lee. i would think that woosters birth age would be around 1850's but really have no definate date.

Best to start with a known Fact. Particularly since travellers have a habit of well, travelling.
they may not even be from Kent.

when & where was Unity born,
when & where did she marry?
What census records are held which pertain to her?

Thanks to freebmd!  Nathan married Unity in 1916 Woolwich.

I think it's time to shell out for that 1893 birth cert.
I can't see any likely marriage for her parents (if indeed mum was a "Brazil"), and no luck with 1901 census either.

There's also a Wester Lee marrying an Ada James in Croydon Registration District in June quarter 1916.

Could this be a relative of 'Wooster' or Unity?

And often 'Wester' is a shortened form of Sylvester in Gypsy families.

the dates are later than expected but it could have been a 2nd marriage possibly. will have to try and see the original to see how old this wester was in 1916. (unity his daughter married 1916 also)
another trip to the GRO.  Smiley

have found t marriages between  a male ''lee'' and female ''brazil'' might have to look at those to!!!

Hello,

i saw this old post and wondered if you had resolved it?

I don't know the answers but have a little info on some of the names you mention.

Wester (silvester) Lee married Ada James. Ada is my great grandfathers sister.
I have them in 1901 census and in 1911 census. At this time they do not have a child called Unity and i can't find a record of them having one.

Frank Bird was a witness at my grandfathers sisters marriage.

Frank Bird Married Unity James.
One of their Children married a Deacon (Deakin) they had a daughter called Unity.

All these families lived at mitcham.

I have just tried to contact people who have them in their trees on genes reunited, but no response yet.

I am at a loss as to who Unity James family were, so I may soon have to get the marriage cert to find out.

Unless you already have this info.
