Can someone please tell me how to reply to a post to say thankyou, when another person has answered and the 'reply' button dissapears.
Thanks,

If you click the reply button below the last posting, up will pop a reply 'form' (like the one I'm typing in)

Scroll down, and fill in whatever you want in the box labelled 'message' ...

... then scroll down a bit more and click 'post'

Goodness, you must have been able to do this or your last message wouldnt have posted ...

... maybe its just a question of getting used to Rootschat ?

If you can respond to this, then there can't be a problem ?

Good luck ... and welcome to RootsChat anyway !

Hi Podletts

I think the others have missed your point - what to do when the reply button is not there.  I imagine that the problem arose on another thread where somebody has posted a wide photograph or something similar, which makes the right hand edge of the Rootschat display move off the right hand side of your screen, taking the reply button with it.  You need to look for the standard windows scroll sideways bar at the bottom of the screen and scroll sideways to find the reply button - don't panic if the text you are replying to disappears off the left side while you are doing this, you can always read it in the reply window, below the box in which you write your reply.

Good luck

Thank you all for the prompt replies.

I think I have it worked out now.
I didn't realize I could click reply on the bottom of the page and then scroll down to find the older quotes underneath.

Thanks,
Jan
