I think this may be John with father also John and family in 1891 - children look to be born in Knockando:
John Shand 39, gamekeeper, b. Boharm, Banffshire Ann S Shand 41, b. Inveravon, Banffshire Maggie Shand 12 John G Shand 10 Donald Shand 9 Fannie A B Shand 6 Alexander Shand 5 James Shand 3 Charles Shand 1 Maggie Dow 22, servant
Address: Millhaugh, Knockando
This fits with the link provided by Yorklass: John G Shand, a gamekeeper's son was born in Knockando but left for London. This book was written by him when he returned.

John G Shand is the son of John Shand 1852 - 1930 and Ann Stuart (c1850 - 1903). They married 1877 in Glenlivet.
John Shand Snr is the son of John Shand and Margaret McLean.
Margaret McLean is my gggrandmother.
If you have a connection with this family I would love to share information.
