have you seen photobooks?
« on: Wednesday 15 October 08 16:52 UTC (UK) »

I just had to share this as i am soooooooooooooooooo pleased with it.  I really wanted to make a book to about my family history to share with my family.  I made a photobook (Jessops website) with loads of photos and also lots of information and scanned documents etc.  It is amazing, my family are all so pleased, it really is a proper hardback book and goes back 5 generations.

Everyone is waiting for volume 2 but i think that will be a while!!

Hi Sara

They are great. Do you mind me asking how much they cost and how many leaves there are in them.

This one is A4 size and it starts at 26 pages and then goes up in multiples of 8 up to 96(ish) so its your choice.  I got this when there was a half price off on so it only cost my 10 quid!!  Although i would quite happily have paid 20 as the quality is fantastic!

I think its a couple of quid for every extra 8 pages. There is a price list on jessops website.  I have made another A4 and smaller square book and a little booklet(only 6 pounds)

well worth it i'd say!!

Had to log in to say what a great idea.  I've looked at Jessop's website and it looks as though you need to download a program or something.  I'll check it out again tomorrow.

Gosh, that looks fantastic.

I'd love to know more about the Jessops site and how it was all done.

Anyone have a link or further info please?

Hi Sara,

I was looking for something different to give my mum on her 80th birthday in December and I think I've just found it  Smiley I had seen photobooks before but the way that you have added so much family information as well is wonderful...didn't know you could do that. Thank you

That is just beautiful. I know there are several sites that do this and I have thought to do it for trips or events, but not family history. What a wonderful keepsake. I will have to look into this.

The problem for me becomes organizing. How did you decide which branches, or did you put all branches?
