Excellent idea for a Christmas gift.  My mum would love this - if only we'd managed to trace her paternal line further than her grandparents!

Sara,
I just got mine back yesterday, it's ready for my mum's 80th birthday next week. Thank you so much for telling us about this... I had so much fun making it that I'm going to start one for the family tree next  Grin
I have to add my grateful thanks to Rog for the front cover picture and all of the other wonderful people on the Restoration Board for their terrific help in restoring loads of the photos for the book  Grin

After seeing this thread I ordered a photo book of the photos taken at my daughter's 21st birthday party and its wonderful. Shes thrilled to bits with it, its so different to looking at the photos in an album or on the computer. I used Bonusprint for it and it took about 9 days from ordering to it arriving and the quality is excellent.

Thanks for the idea sara, I might not have used it for FH directly, but it will hopefully be around for generations to come  Smiley

I am thinking of giving my father a family history of his ancestors for his 70th birthday. I have looked at the Jessop site and the photobooks on Ancestry. What kind of documents have people had copied into these books ?

I do not have many photos but lots of text information, censuses and certs. Is it Ok to use these if you acknowledge where they have been sourced ?

Any assistance on this topic gratefully recieved.

hi
i put loads of scanned documents in mine, and photos of medals and gravestones etc.  Its not a published book, only a photo album so i don't source mine as they are my pictures, documents that i have anyway, its only the same as putting them into a folder or album!!

don't know if i am right or not??

Hi

I am currently making mine but when I was about 3/4 of the way through - the program just went - I lost ALL of my work! I was more than annoyed.

Great idea, these. I can't wait to see my family's reactions (its a suprise).
