re Dodd's of Staffordshire
« on: Wednesday 15 October 08 20:18 UTC (UK) »

I am trying to obtain any information on the Dodd family of Staffordshire in particular any info on Sidney Herbert Dodd of Tunstall/Endon married to Sarah Rosina Dodd nee Morfey.(Sidney was possibly the secretary of The Potters Association) or John Dodd of Police Station Tunstall who was the police spt. and married Eliza. Do you think you could be a direct decendent?  It would be lovely to hear from you.

Hello Katie and welcome to Rootschat

Could you give us some details re: birthyears etc - BUT - not if the people are still living as it is forbidden to post details of living people

If you already have any census or BMD info - could you let us know so we don't duplicate the details

If there are particular parts of the family you still need info on - could you tell us what info you still require

Sorry for this very late reply.  This seems to be the line that I'm looking for.  Do you have any further info that could be of use.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Dear John,

Thank you for the info.  Was wondering how you are connected to John Dodd snr.  Who was your father or mother in connection to the Dodd family?  Would it be possible for you to scan and attach a copy of the portraits that you have of both John and Eliza?  I believe that you can send personal messages via rootschat.

Regards

Hi Kate

I have tried to send photos of my great grandfather and my great grandmother but unfortunately they will not send and attach

My grand father was Frank Dodd who was the son of Superintendent John Dodd.

Are you related to the Dodd family and if so I wondered if you had other information concerning this branch of our family.

I can download the photos of my great grandparents to an e-mail address if you wish, as I frequently do this with (recent photos I have taken of my grandchildren)  to members of my  family.

Sincerely

John & Vicky Dodd

Dear John and Vicky,

Thanks for the reply.  My Great Great Grandfather was John Dodd and my Great Grandfather was Sidney Herbert Dodd who I believe was related to your grandfather.

I would be grateful if you could forward me a personal message providing me with your email address as I am having difficulty in working out how to do so myself.   This way we can communicate without it being broadcast.

How exciting!!

Regards
