Robert DAWSON born 1794 - High Wycombe
« on: Wednesday 15 October 08 20:27 UTC (UK) »

Hi

Please could someone help with info on Robert DAWSON born 1794 High Wycombe. He married Dorinda Elizabeth Lushington CARTER and had 10 children. He was a surgeon and brain specialist.

He does not feature on any census returns. His youngest son, Alfred, was born in Southwark in 1834.

Any info, especially when and were he died would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Amanda

Hi Amanda

Take a look at the Royal College of Surgeons library at www.rcseng.as.uk/library they appear to have records which you can see.

I was quite interested in taking a look at that website but the link isn't working. Any ideas?

Sorry not very good with these addresses!

try http://www.rcseng.ac.uk and take the link to library

If it still doesn't work try to google Royal College of Surgeons.

Thanks Jenny - that did it!

Unfortunately, I think my surgeon ancestor was a bit too early to be in their archives - 1600s!

He had a most appropriate name for his profession - Richard...KNIFE!  Grin Grin
