Italian records

Where would I find immigration records from Italy? I am looking for a Luis Umberto Ostinelli who came from Como. I am not sure when he came here but his son was born in London in 1918. I really do not know where to start, any suggestions please?

I don't think there will be immigration records as such, but you could try Kew, and the Naturalisation records,

Hiya Wendy, sadly Italian records are hard to get hold of and you need to get in touch with each town's Commune (town hall for information.)

No there is nothing in the 1901 census so he must have arrived here after then.
