Taylor, What am I doing wrong
« on: Sunday 19 October 08 11:33 UTC (UK) »

Hi

I need help agian. I can't find my grandfather Wallace Taylor on any records he was born 12th Dec 1897 and had two marriages.
His father and Mother was John Gold Taylor and Isabella Wallace Jack who I know was born in Darisie Mains 1865.
I know Isabella and John had a number of children which was already put on the post but still I can't find my grandfather and anything about his first wife.

Can anyone help as you can tell I am new to all this but having a great time looking at all the posts.

Thanks

Susie

I can't see where you have given any information on him, his marriages  & his kids. IF you know anything of his second marraige (for example) it would give a timescale for the first.

Can you detail it here?

You should be able to get the first marriage on Scotlandspeople if you want it. It is a pay site.
There is only one marriage for Wallace Taylor & MaryBell in 1818 so the year is obviously correct.
Are you after information on John and Isabella or the later info.?

Hi Mariac

Info on John and Isabella, I think I will stick to one line at the moment and will not confuse me as much.

I know Isabella family came from Dairsie Mains where I stay now, I have been to the church but no luck there with the old records.

I have info but it is all in spurts and splats and loads of missings bits.

Kind Regards

1871 Census 20 School House Dairsie
Jane Jack  44  born Largo fife
William  do 14            Scoonie Fife
Jane      do   8   Dairsie
Isabella  do  5      do
Euphemia    do   3

added There are others at the school house also

1881 Dairsie Fife
Jane Jack  54   born Dairsie Mill Spinner
Isabella do  15         do
Euphemia do  13      do

It would probably pay you to check these on Scotlands People as these are from a***y.

There is also a marriage in 1884 for John and Isabella in Dairsie Fife. This would give you both parents names.
