Any 1776 Kent Parish baptism register.

After years of frustrating searching and getting nowhere, I make an appeal to anyone with access to any parish in Kent for 1776 baptisms for a lookup please. Smiley

Searching for a William Weston born Jan 1776 (birth date from a bible).

Any lookups even negative ones would be helpful, then at least I can eliminate it.

I've had a look through my records, but the only William WESTON I can find was baptised in 1758 in Smarden.

I'll have to PM you with the details of where I've searched.

Two possibles that have come up are the parishes of Brenzett and New Romney. If anyone has access to these baptism registers for 1776 would they please check for my William Weston.

The Romney Marsh PRs are on film in Folkestone library.
I've got to try & get there to look for relatives in Old Romney, so I'll have a look for William Weston.
I can't promise when it will be, hopefully in the next few weeks, but at least the ancestors aren't going anywhere Grin

Ha Ha! I think I may have found a baptism in Chatham, it's from BT's but the Medway CityArk website isn't working so I can't check it. I would still appreciate the lookup though Betty. Thanks again.

               Have you considered Sussex Parishes ?
The Kent /Sussex border was a bit flexible in the old days( I am led to believe.) There were quite a few Westons born arround 1776 in Sussex .

Further to Rog's message there is a least one in Mayfield 1776 which is where my Sussex Weston's came from.  Do you have any other details?

Sussex is indeed a possibility as they went to live in Eastbourne in the early 1800's. William married Elizabeth Eves from Stone near Dartford. I know about the Mayfield one Kerry and I am pretty sure it is not him. My wm died in Eastbourne.

I couldn't see a Baptism for William Weston in Brenzett or New Romney Sad

At least I didn't come back empty-handed as I can offer you a Marriage Grin
If nothing else, it shows there was a Weston in the area at about the right time.

             Following my Sussex thoughts ,courtesy of Family search,There is a Christening for William Weston, 21 feb 1776, at Salehurst, which would fit your time frame for Jan Birth. Also another in 1776 ,no date, at Ticehurst.
            Do you happen to know Williams parents names from the Bible entry( or have I missed them)?
