Hi all -- Can anyone help me with the following ------ I have - James McARTHUR (2ND GREAT GRANDAD) married Mary McDONALD in 1859 (IONA) both aged 23 - I cant find any info on their parents exept their Names (Peter McARTHUR (3rd Great Grandad) wife is Euphemia McDONALD) -- Donald McDONALD & Mary McLAUCHLAN) - I must be doing something wrong not to be able to get the info --- Thank you if anyone helps

Given their age at marriage in 1859, could this be them in 1861:

James McArthur 24, tinker, b. Luss Dumbartonshire

1841 keppoch barony lanarkshire(freeCEN website)
along with several families(white , cameron, watson etc.) in remarks column
"slept in open air gipsies or tinklers"(tinkers ?)

Thank you Monica & EV -- I will add a bit more into the pot on what I have found --- Marriage cert. says James was a Tinsmith & his father Peter was also a Tinsmith -- The minister was Alex McGREGOR Minister for IONA -- James only put a X (mark) as signature on certificate -- Marys father (DONALD) was a Shephard -- Its hard to read but I think it says Registered at (Catchean Iona) 15th Oct.1859
