looking for Janet Smith believe her mothers Christian name was Hanah. Janet married Alfred Glover (b.16/06/1882 Liverpool) .
Believe she was living in 1 Nielson Place, Kirkcowan(?) Wigtownshire approx 1934

Wow- this is fantastic!!
My Dad's Grandmother (Janet Glover nee Smith) brought him up.
Janets husband -Alfred thought she was born 08/06/1882 until the day of her funeral when he found her birth cert and the anger that she had lied so he didn't know she was 2 years older than him kept him going through the day!
I can't find a date of their marriage so thought they may have married in Scotland. Their daughter Marjorie Helen Glover was born in Toxteth Park Liverpool Oct-Dec 1909.
Sadly my Dad died in 2002 and details he gave us was limited - loved Gramp and Gran dearly Thats why Iam trying to trace both their histories.
Other places mentioned - Castle Douglas + Kirkcubridgeshire(?)
Any other help much appreciated - I'm hooked.

Not 100% possibly Joseph and Elizabeth - think he had an older sister called Ellen- think she then married William Robertson and had a son William killed very young in WW1
Alfred DOB. 16/061882 but think it was Toxteth Park Liverpool. For some reason his father was banished from the rest of his family in Prescot/St. Helens areas of Liverpool sometime also mentioned as West Derby/Cronton.
Thank you so so much for taking so much trouble.
Dad not wanted by his parents (conceived out of wedlock) so brought up by Janet & Alfred- much of the time in Scotland.
