Trying to change picture in post

Entered a New Topic in an England County, and photo attached sucessfully for identification by others.
Not intended was the photo title. Within my Profile removed the photo. Within
my files changed photo name.  Went thru' procedure to again attach the file with changed name, jpg about 60KB.  Wouldn't accept.  No matter how I try to get around the problem, note says already have a file of this name.  RC appears to be locked into that condition.  I've dis from RC logged in again,
yet still same problem. Have also changed again name of file.
Not an easy site to understand.   Help please !     Gragareth.

which no longer has any photo attached.  That's good, step 1 achieved!

The problem may well be that you have chosen to name the photo with the same name of one that has already been uploaded by someone else to RootsChat.  There are a lot of images attached all over the place.  Each image file name has to be unique, otherwise there would be confusion in the system and it would probably fall over.

May I suggest that you call it by your user name and perhaps a number to help you identify it?  It's unlikely that anyone else would use your user name for a photo title.

Thankyou for asking this question Gragareth. I have had the same problem.I had no idea what I was doing wrong. Now I Know.

Johngirl. If we've had problems with that others have too. The notice that pops-up saying about same named file, should say 'Is already used on the web-site. Choose another  name'.  Yet I did change name twice as I know files have to be differently named.  I do like the site, and had a quick response to my query.          Gragareth.

they are very good helping with problems on this site. I suppose I should have asked the same question as you but just gave up instead.
I know now how to fix the problem if it happens to me again thanks to you and Little Nell.
