« on: Monday 03 November 08 17:32 UTC (UK) »

I am looking for John Folkard Howard born 1816 in Norfolk ( eventually settled in Liverpool) and also Margaret Mercer, born 1822 in either Liverpool or Preston. Any help appreciated as always.

It has just occured to me that Hannah aged 35 cannot be the mother of John aged 25

So its probably wrong.

If we could find a marriage of him with his middle name it would help but he may still have been single in 1841 perhaps we should try in 1851

I have him in 1851, its just the 1841 I am missing. He married and settled in Liverpool in 1842, so I was wanting to see if he had moved there by 1841, and also if his parents were still alive. Ah well, back to the drawing board! Thanks for your help anyway.

What is his occupation in 1851 and I will have another look for him being single in 1841  as you know of his marriage in 1842.

Always post as much info as you have when requesting a look up as every little bit helps  Smiley as I had assumed he was married by 1841

In 1851 he is a railway clerk. His parents are John and Hannah Maria. He has siblings Hannah Maria (1813) Mary ( 1814) Eliza(1818) Robert Folkard( 1820) and Ellen ( 1824) I realize a lot of the siblings may have left home. Thanks for your help.

I have found this one which is a possibility although the occupation does not match with 51 everything else does .

As he was a railway clerk he would have been literate.
