Hi Poppyann

Tried to search but coming up with nothing and so tried the Sussex Marriage Index to see if I could find a possible marriage for parents and there is nothing in the Frant area at all.  Undecided

You may have to widen the search poppyann

1841 census has him in Frant at Broadwater forest, High Rocks age 74 a Publican but he answers No to born in County.

With him are Lucy age 58, Nathaniel 47 a Painter, Lucy 30, Elizabeth 12, Edward 8 an Edward Maynard 15 and Richard Maynard 13

Thanks Suey, the High Rocks public house is on the border of Tunbridge Wells and Langton Green which are both in Kent.  Poppyann

Hi Dave, thank you very much for the info. I already have some of it. So far I have been unable to trace the parents of Nathaniel b abt 1767 in Sussex I assume. Lucy Jacob the widow of Thomas married a George Mitchell in 1842. I am still going through your info and agree with your view of the monumental inscriptions. Regards Poppyann
