WESTLAKE family from Plymouth

hi

trying to locate the following people Mary Mackey Sampson Westlake born abt 1857 in Plymouth.. John Harold Sampson Westlake born abt 1864 Plymouth & George Frederick Westlake born abt 1866 in Plymouth. Along with Richard Jacob Westlake born 1861 in Plymouth are all descendants of Richard Westlake born 1832 in Bedminster & Mary Mackey Sampson born 1853 in Plymouth. I have traced Richard Jacob's line but not the 3 siblings.. Can you help.

in the 1871 census

Richard Westlake , the dad, is 39 an accountant but states that he was born Bristol. He and his family are living in Christchurch, Bristol Glous, at 22 Pithay.

George Fredk son 7

in 1881 the family is still together in Plym street, Charles Plymouth
Richard Westlake 48 accountant
Mary M 52
richard J 19 painter
George F son 15 bookbinder

Ummm there are two George F Westlakes b the same time , Plymouth in the 1891 and 1901 ...one is a Chemist in London the other a stone mason  married to a Lucy (in Bristol in 1901) ..not sure which would be yours .

just went to have a look at the 1861 census ..... very interesting

Thanks for all that. What a pandora's box this turned out to be. Had no clue of the other children in the 1861 census. Interesting that John Mackay  Hodge appears in the 71 census - could be a tie in relative from the Sampson linage. All very interseting. Appreciate all you've done. Regards.

Your are a legend - just had a family day today for my mum's 77th birthday. She was amazed at the 1st lot of details you uncovered - she'll be truely amazed at the next installment & no i don't mind u getting the info as i've only got access to the 1881 census & freebdm - which limits me severly. I'll be in contact with my Aunty Joyce - she's 84 - she'll be extremely happy with all you've found.

Richard Westlake = Mary Mackey Sampson

(Do you have this cert? If so could you give me the details)

Children:
1. Charles Sampson Westlake 1854 = accountant, never married , dies 1890 London

2. Charlotte Elizabeth Westlake 1855 = barmaid , marries George William E Moss in 1883

3. Mary Mackey Sampson Westlake 1857= last seen in 1871 , added; marries James Ruglew Myers in 1893

4. Alice Mary Maud Westlake 1859 = barmaid still need to find her in 1901 added ..1901 single living with sister.

5. Richard Jacob Westlake 1861 = has been followed through by Dave Smiley

6. John Harold Sampson Westlake b 1864 d 1864

7. George Frederick Westlake c 1866 = not sure as there are two of them born samer time, same place  Undecided
