is our john westlake any link to this family, he married amelia jane harding in stoke dameral in dec qtr 1897 following the death of her first husband thomas harding, seems an interesting theory doesnt it !!!!

Hi! Great to get a reply, I wasn't expecting one after all this time as this seemed like a really old thread. It looks like they are related- pretty distantly though. Reading the above posts, my lineage is through Mary Ann Mackey and John Hodge who looks like they would've been aunt and uncle to Mary Mackey Sampson who married a Richard Westlake. This is interesting stuff!!!  Smiley

hi there,
well i dont have much on john, no doubt he was married before as amelia had been married and had have a dozen kids by her first marriage and still managed to have one by john westlake he was called frank born in 1900 they were living in a village called millbrook in maker just over the bridge but originally came from the stoke dameral area of plymouth will have to do some more digging about on this and let you know what i come up with ok xx

Very excited to read your post as I am also descendant of John Mackey Hodge and Jenny Lang. Guess you are from the Lang-Hodge branch of the family? My name also has the Lang and the Hodge in it but not hyphenated!
My grandfather was Henry Parnell, son of JMH and JL. Have done lots of research on the family. I've done quite a bit of research and attached some photos (if I can work out how to attach them - new to this site.) I live in London but go to Plymouth a lot.
Look forward to hearing from you.
