Hi

The link below will take you to Scotlandspeople were you can download historical BMD's. They are not in the form of a certificate but an image of the register page.

You can get  a pretty useful bit of info about how to order and what is contained on the registers via the following link

Hi, when you download marriage certificates will the parents names of both parties be given as well please?

Also are there any subscription sites where you can get this information within the subscription.....

and is there a section in here on how to do research in Scotland?

Thanks

Birth, marriage and death certificates all give the names of both parents (presuming for death certs informant knows)

BMDs are only available online from Scotlandspeople as are census images. Ancestry does have the census transcription but not the actual images.

The IGI has Scottish births and marriages from 1855-1875 transcribed from the Registers and, apart from the odd transcription error, are complete. Births have parents names but marriages don't

Hello Wortle, pm sent to you now on researching in Scotland  :O)

Also if you scroll down beyond the scottish counties section here, you will come to a general section  Third one down is 'where to start with Scottish research'.  Good luck  Regards,   Steve  :O)
