1891/1901 Census - Charles TOLLERFIELD

Could anyone help me track down a missing relative ?

I know of a Charles TOLLERFIELD, born ~1845/6 in Bere Regis, who in 1881 was serving on HMS Malabar.

As far as I can tell from his service record, he left the RN in 1889. and when his son got married in 1897, he was living in Portsea.

But, for whatever reason, I cannot track him down in either the 1891, or 1901 census returns.

Can anyone help out with any information on this subject ??
