Paintings by John Stewart Dewar

Would be interested to hear of anyone who might have (or come across) paintings by John Stewart Dewar.

He was a portrait and landscape artist (1824 - 1890) and lived in Glasgow for some time (Bath Street)  He was also in Suffolk at the time of the 1851 census.  One daughter was born in Norwich in 1856.  I have been unable to track down his whereabouts until the 1871 census when he was a visitor at his sister's home in Acharn, near Kenmore,Perthshire.  All the records I have state that he was an artist and therefore if he painted all his life there should be some of his work around, especially family portraits.   

I have tracked down an artist of that name and time at the National Library Fine Art Department in Edinburgh but unable to establish a link.   Not sure how I can establish such a link if this is the same artist unless someone else knows of him.  Any ideas would be welcome.
