Hello, the following link to the Kildare Genealogy web site will enable you to search on the 1901 Census, also Births, Marriages and Deaths for Kildare, you will need to register and there is a 5 euro charge for each record.

My Grandmother and her Family are shown on the 1901 Census as living in Rathasker Road Naas, they are shown as Household number 8 and were called Mangan, is this the time period the Coady's you are searching for were in that area, if so maybe the families knew each other.

Hello again, the book looks interesting have you got the ISBN and I will try to get it. My Great Grandfather was the head of the household when the family were in Rathasker, Naas Ireland, he was called Christopher Mangan, however he did have brothers called Robert and James and also a Sister called Mary that I know of, their Father was called John Mangan and Mother Bridget, nee Murphy, and my Great Grandfather Christopher's Birth details show him as being born at Main Street Naas, I do not know of a Sean Mangan. I suspect the families would have known each other as I have seen an old map of Naas and there did not appear to be much housing in the Rathasker Road area.

Hi, My Great Grandfather Christopher and his immediate family left Ireland at some point between 1901 and 1911 as they show up on the England 1911 census living in Birtley Co Durham, I also know they lived in Gateshead and his daughters and sons all married and brought up Families including my Grandmother, they all died in the Gateshead area, however as I mentioned in my last mail my Great Grandfather had two brothers that I know of Robert and James and it could be their line that is living on in Naas to this day, I am still trying to find info on them, also possibly my Great Grandfather's Father John who married Bridget Murphy may of had other sons that I am not aware of as he lived in Main Street Naas where my Great Granfather was born so the other sons could have married and settled in other areas of Naas as did my Great Grandfather in Rathasker. I would like to try to get further back than my Great Great Grandfather John Mangan as the records on the Kildare Web Site go back quite a way. Thanks for the offer of the census, I would appreciate it if you could send it through and I will try mailing the author of the book to see if I can get a copy. When you mention you maiden name is Murphy I have corresponded with a guy who lives in our area of England who's relatives also came over from Kildare and when I mentioned my Great Grandfathers Mother was a Bridget Murphy he said that there was a Family of Murphy's lived in Main Street Naas and suggested that maybe my Great Great Grandfather John Mangan may have married one of their Daughters Bridget as he was from that area of Naas. Also believe it or not but on my Mothers side my Granmother's family were called Murphy and her Parents were both from Ireland, one obviously Murphy the other parent a Curtis, I think they were from the Cork area according to my Aunts on that side who are still alive, funny enough my Grandmother was called Elizabeth Ann Murphy. I am not called Mangan by the way, my Grandmother on my Father's side was Josephine Mangan Daughter of Christopher my Great Grandfather, she married my Grandfather in Gateshead North East England in 1915. A lot of Irish people came across to North East England to work in the mines in the early 1900's, on the England 1911 census my Great Grandfather Christopher and both his sons are shown as working in the mines.

Hello again, I am looking for any info on Mangans in Naas since early 1900's, my Grandmother's Family were from there and on the 1901 Irish Census are shown to be living in Rathasker Road, they were My Great Grandfather Christopher Mangan, Wife Mary nee Tierney, sons John and Christopher and Daughters Bridgit, Agnes and my Grandmother Josephine. I know that my Great Grandfathers Father was a John Mangan who married a Bridgit Murphy and they lived in Main Street Naas, my Great Grandfather had three siblings that I know of Robert, James and Mary, my Great Grandfather and his Family came across to England some time between 1901 and 1911 as they are shown on the English 1911 Census as living in Birtley Co Durham. I am looking for Mangans in Naas from that time and up to the present day that may be decendants of my Great Grandfather's siblings Robert and James and any info on the other sibling Mary, I am not a Mangan but my Grandmother Josephine was, also my Great Great Grandfather John Mangan's Father I think was a William Mangan who is shown on the Griffiths Valuation as living at Main Street Naas but I have not confirmed that yet. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Hucksterhawk, sent this personal message below yesterday but not sure if you recieved it.
Hi, apologies for not replying until now but I have just noticed your post, normally I recieve a mail from rootschat to say there has been a reply to my posts but unfortunately on this occasion I did not. Your Mam rang me and left a message Thursday 29/10 but I was away in London and did not pick it up until Thursday night so did not want to ring her late at night, however I did ring today 30/10 and had a good chat about the Mangans with your Mam and was delighted to find out that your Mam has photos of my Grandmother Josephine Mangan, Grandfather William Punshon, Great Grandfather Christopher and Grandmother Mary Mangan, her Uncles John Joseph and Christopher Mangan, your Mam mentioned that she would get me some photos done of the family and it is still sinking in that there are photos available, I never knew my Grandmother Josephine and Grandfather William as they died long before I was born so have never had much information on them and any photos so please pass on my thanks to your Mam, she is going to ring me in a few days time to arrange something and I would be delighted to meet her and be able to chat further, I also have some census info on where the family lived in Naas Kildare and also when they were in England in 1911 and also have the records on your Mams Uncle John Joseph(known as Uncle Jack your Mam said) when he was in the Royal Marines during the First World War and through until 1939.
Regards Kevin
