Hmm, well I don't have any Michael's in my tree yet, but he might pop up somewhere!

Did you find your highwayman you were looking for in 1806?

Well I found Richard Message twice, once in 1806 for felony and then once in 1807 for Larceny and transported.  So the rumour about him being a highwayman was obviously slightly an exageration. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

All the records I am now collecting for Richard Message just need to be sorted and linked together and that is proving to be the frustrating bit.

Michael Winchester!  I think he might be in my Winchesters  Shocked

Do you know I hadn't even given it a thought!  Roll Eyes

Would there have been local prisons before that period?  I know Horsham had a prison at some time which is certainly not there now.

This is very kind of you, Kerry.

Any Edmonds or Edmunds?

(I know one of my Edmonds's sadly commited suicide in Lewes Prison at a later date, awaiting trial for larceny, but I dont know about if any of them further back had issues with the law)

Larceny, sentence - 3 months
HO27/12

William Edmunds
1816 April session
