Greetings from a new member in Melbourne, Australia,

I'm searching for information or suggestions for useful sources to help track down a family from Ballynacourty. The details I have:

Thomas Herlihy, born c 1826 to John Herlihy & Mary Deen/Dene. Thomas had two sisters that I know of - Catherine (who is buried in Ballynacourty with her mother) and Bridget who went to the US. Thomas and his wife Catherine (nee O'Donnell) emigrated to Victoria in 1857. With them was John Foley, possibly son of Thomas Foley & Mary Cahill. I don't know if he was from Ballynacourty, but he was a good friend of Thomas's.

Any suggestions for good sources most welcome.

There is one John Foley Born in Keels Kerry Ireland age 25yrs and 6-months
  on his way to Detroit Mich: 9-10-1927
He had been to Canada but was now on the way to Detroit Mich:
Passage paid himself Never been to U.S. before Has no address for the U.S as yet.
   Looks loke going to Foster Sister Mrs Helen Holland Born Irish Free State.

Thanks for the info, but the John Foley I am looking for emigrated to Australia and died there in 1884. (I should remember to put the country in, I forget that there is a Melbourne & Victoria in Canada).
