William Emlyn Mordecai (Died 1969)

William Emlyn Mordecai was born in Pontypridd, Glamorgan on 2nd October 1891.
He died 5th May 1969 - retired coke works manager of 4, Lowes Bank Road, Durham City.

Is there anybody who can either look up a death notice/ obituary for me, or point me in the direction of obtaining one.

Any other information on the life or family of "Emlyn" will be gratefuly received.

He does have a notice published in the London Gazette asking for any claims against him prior to settling his estate.

Thanks for looking, Barry.

That was the source of the information that we had for the death of Emlyn.
Sadly the names of the executors gave no clue to next of kin.

One day we will get his death certificate, to see who registered the death, but it is one of a long list waiting until funding available.

At the time of the death of William E. Mordecai at 4 Lowes Barn Bank the residents at the house were William E. Mordecai and Ella Mordecai.

Electoral Register, Nevilles Cross South, 1969.

The next year Ella Mordecai was living as the only person on the Electoral Register Nevilles Cross South, 1970, for 4 Lowes Barn Bank. I checked 1973 and she had left/sold the house.

William E. Mordecai and Ella Monkhouse married DEC Qtr 1944 Durham City area. I used both GRO and Durham Record Office indexes and the latter index indicates that this was the first marriage for Ella but of course no indication whether this was his first marriage. As William E. was 53 at the time of this marriage Ella must be dead also now.
