Hi stoop
What makes you think there is a Cumberland connection?   When and where was Rachel born?   A bit more information will help if you have it.

Hi Andrea  Smiley

I think it's been touched on before:

Hi Andrea thats the problem Iam only guessing that they lived in Cumberland because it is close to the Scottish border. I did post on this subject before and got a suggestion that they lived in Crosscanonby but I did not know how to progress the thread. It was mentioned that his wife was named Ann and a reference to Rachel and 1813. Can this possibly help?. thanking you stoop.

Hi stoop  Smiley

I'm not quite sure what you want clarification about.  A thread refers to a request that you have made about a topic. For example the series of postings titled Robert Kerr that we have contributed to here is a thread.

I noticed that you've asked for other information about your Kerr family on other similar threads and I was indicating to Andrea that there might be information on them that would help with your current request.

'Regards

Thanks Gadget.  I must get into the habit of checking for other threads.    What a memory you must have!
Stoop - have you considered the Scottish naming patterns for their children.  Does Rachel follow it with her children I wonder?  I don't think I can add any more to the information you have already been given.  Sorry.  How did you get back to Robert in the first place?
Andrea
PS  If you use the search rootschat box at the top of the page you should be able to find your other posts to reassess what you already have.
