Nothing coming up for a marriage to a Mary apart from one in 1867 to a Mary Watson in Glasgow 
He married Margaret McGeddie in 1878 in Bathgate, so it will be best to look for one of the older children. However, they appear to all have McGeddie as a middle name.

Unfortunately, James McGeddie Hawkins (aged 8 ) on the 1881 was the son of margaret McGeddie and is registered as McGeddie. (see IGI)
So that doesn't help with Mary Doyle
