Where is Killtanthin? Does it exist?
« on: Thursday 13 November 08 06:59 UTC (UK) »

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out in identifying whether this town or village exists.

According to my great great great grandmother's death certificate (from Australia), she was born in Killtanthin, Tipperary circa 1842. Her name was Catherine Casey, and her parents were Patrick Casey and Margaret.

I'd be interested to find out what the town's name actually is, and whether there's any records for this family.

Any help is much appreciated,

Kind Regards,

Anthony

Could it be Kiltankin (Templetenny parish) townland (not town)?

See www.seanruad.com to find townlands and parishes in Ireland. Be sure to change default setting from 'exact match'.
I searched for 'Kil' at the beginning of the word and went through all the results.

It might be.

I wonder if there's many Caseys from there.

Thanks for your help

Griffith's Valuation might show Caseys there:
