Death Record for the 1960s

I'm trying to find a death record for my husband's great aunt, Mary Ann Bennett.

She was born in Weston Forton, Shropshire in in 1886 and died around 1966 in Warton, Shropshire.   We know she was buried in Forton because my husband's aunt remembers going to the funeral.   However, there is no gravestone in the churchyard and when we visited the church earlier this year, we couldn't find any entry  for her burial either.

This is driving my husband's aunt up the wall - can anyone tell me how we can find her death record and what happened to her burial records?

Hello

In the last quarter of 1966, there is a death registration for a Mary A Bennett aged 82 in Stafford. The GRO reference is 9B 414.

From 1935 to 1974, Forton was covered by the Registration District of Stafford, so this might be the entry that you need.

 Huh I saw your question about Mary Ann Bennet and as I am new to this, having been looking at the Bennett family in Shropshire for the last twenty years thought maybe your aunt Mary Ann Bennett may be connected?  I have Samuel Bennett born in Minsterley in 1824 who had four sons, Samuel, Abel, William and Edwin.  Any connection?
