I would love some help with the Yews from Huntingdonshire.
My g grandfather x4 was William Yews. I am looking for a baptism record for him. On census records he is down as place of birth unknown parish. He was born c 1793.
I have found what I think is a record of Williams sister's baptism,Elizabeth 10th May 1792, All Saints and St John Huntingdonshire, parents George Yews and Mary.
Other info I have;
William married Mary English 4th April 1816 St Edmund's, Downham Market.
William and Mary had 12 children from 1816 to 1840, these are ones I have found so far. Mary English was from Stoke Ferry,Norfolk bapt 28th march 1798.
I would love to confirm a baptism date for William. Also if this Elizabeth is William's sister.
Any other info would be a bonus.

Censuses don't actually say birthplace unknown. 1851 says Huntingdon, 1861 says Huntingdon Parish not known, 1871 is Huntingdon. One interpretation of 1861 could be that he didn't know in which of the parishes in the town of Huntingdon he was born.
George Bishop Yews and Mary Goodwin widow married at Ellington Hunts in 1780. This was the only Yews marriage in Hunts 1754-1819 (I haven't checked for variations eg Hughes or Ewes)
There are only three Yews burials in Hunts on the NBI
William, 23 Dec 1795 at Huntingdon All Saints & St John
George age 65 on 26 Aug 1821 at Hartford Hunts
Mary age 72 on 18 Jan 1823 at Hartford
Going back to marriages
1820 Louisa Yews m Robert Dear at Hartford
1820 Elizabeth Yews m Richman Butteriss of Broughton at Hartford
(I now see these are on the IGI)
Christenings on the BVRI, both children of George and Mary
6 Mar 1789 Robert Yews Huntingdon St Mary
10 May 1792 Elizabeth Yews Huntingdon All Saints & St John
This appears to have been the only Yews family in Hunts. They married in Ellington, moved to Huntingdon, and then to Hartford. It's odd that William consistently gave an implied birth of 1793/4 yet there's a William buried in 1795. As no age is given you need to check the register to see what other information is given eg son of George and Mary, or retired, or whatever.
Louisa is a puzzle, although I see that one of William's children was named Louisa too. I can't find her burial, although there's a Robert Dear aged 70 living in Hartford edit:in 1841. I was hoping to find her in a census to get her birthplace but no such luck
As the Huntingdon parishes are extracted onto either the IGI or BVRI it doesn't seem as though your William was baptised there. It would be worth checking Ellington and Hartford parish registers. Hartford can be ordered from and viewed at your nearest LDS Family History Centre, or there's a transcript on fiche available from Hunts FHS, but unfortunately Ellington hasn't been filmed so is only available at Huntingdon Records Office or the Society of Genealogists in London (Hartford is also available at the SoG)
