Perhaps I should record parents names and ages?

Hi Ian,
I think you're probably right!!
The Jane Warr I thought was mine was baptised at St Mary's Old Swinford on 29 April 1792 with parents Joseph and Ann. Although this one didn't tally with the age given on 1851 census.
It wasn't until a cousin sent me some info that I realised I might be on the wrong tack.

If Moses Warr and Elizabeth Hick are her parents I think there are at least two more daughters, and according to various trees a couple of sons. Though I haven't seen a Benjamin yet.

There's a james Warr as a witness to her marriage to Ingley Edmonds

Do you have the names of the parents for the Jane baptised at Tardibigge?

I keep promising myself a trip to Worcester record office to see if I can sort it out but haven't got there yet.

Hi

According to another tree i have seen, Moses and Elizabeth had 5 children all born in Tardibigge:

Thomas Warr b1786
Maria Warr b1788 d9/10/1845 in Cradley Heath
John Warr b1780
Sarah Warr b1791 d1879 in Stourbridge
Jane Warr b1798 d1855 in Halesowen

I cant find the link between the above and my branch of Warrs, but i am sure they must be connected.  I suspect Joseph Warr, father of the other Jane, may be Moses brother or cousin and my Benjamin is Joseph's son.  Moses also had a brother named Benjamin, b c1850, just to make it more confusing!!

Hi Ian,
Confusing is the word, I've never had a past-time that was more infuriating and yet when you finally solve the mystery more satisfying.
I think the only way this mystery will be solved is by going through the parish register for Tardibigge and listing all the Warr's. Might take a while but I'm sure they all tie up eventually.

Maria and Sarah Warr both ended up in the Black Country married to two brothers, James and Moses Hipkiss.

I found a Benjamin Warr aged 51 buried at St Mary's, Old Swinford on 5 October 1804 is this one anything to do with you?

There is also an Aarron mentioned around the same time.

If I find anymore info I'll let you know.

Thanks for that Linell,
Had looked at the site before as I am also descended from the Sidaway's.
Unfortunately am so far unable to tie these Warr's into mine, as you will have seen from previous postings am unable to determine whether Jane's parents were Elizabeth and Moses or Joseph and Ann.
Will keep trying!!!

Hi.  My Benjamin was born in 1800/01.  I have attached a copy of his grave at St Michaels Church, Brierley Hill, buried with his wife Lucy Mogg b1798.

The grave next to it is that of James Warr, who was Jane Warr's (b1798) cousin.  Benjamin Warr who died in 1804 was Janes Uncle (Moses brother and James' dad).  If my sources are correct that is!!

I cant find a link between the 2 branches, but it cant be a coincidence that their graves are next to each other. As a pure guess I think that Jane Warr b1792 may be my benjamins sister, with Joseph and Ann being thir dad.

Ian

Hi Ian,
Have had a quick look on the St Mary's, Old Swinford parish records and can only find a record of baptism for Jane (1892), but any other children could have been done anywhere.
Why couldn't they have shown a bit of imagination when naming their offspring. It would make life so much easier.
had a look at the site Linell suggested, but cannot see a connection so far with my Warrs - not that I know which are mine!!!

Ian,
We bought a copy of a micro fiche for baptisms and burials for 1766-1800 and 1800-1812 I think from BMSGH. The web address is www.bmsgh.org
They have quite a few parishes either on disc or micro fiche. The only problem with the fiches is having to go to the library to read them, though its cheaper than travelling to the Midlands.

Hi Ian,
If you are only looking for Warr's in Brierley Hill it might save you time to know that there are only   8  more mentioned in the records I have:-

Burial -  Joseph infant son of John and Priscilla Warr 13 April 1796
Burial - Priscilla Warr aged 22 3 Sept 1797
Baptism - Jane daughter John and Elizabeth    24 Aug 1800
    ""        Mary     "              """""                 19 Aug 1802
   ""         John son                """"                 3 May 1808
    ""        Thomas   son         """"                  24 Jan 1810
Burial - Edward aged 1      3 May 1808
Burial - James   aged 1 son of John and Elizabeth 11 March 1810
Couldn't see baptisms for either Edward or James.

Hi
Re Rhoda Edmonds in 1861 i have found Rhoda Edmonds marrying Samuel Salt 28 MAR 1853   Old Swinford  in 1861 they are living in Cradley with a son Job Salt.

There is also a William Edmonds on the same page born about 1828 married to Ann. Don't know if he was Ingley and Janes son

At The top of the page is Isiah Hughes his Sister Mercy or Mary married John Edmonds son of Ingley Edmonds and Jane Warr

Thanks kd
Ingley and Jane had two sons they named William (confusing) one born 1824 and died 1826, the second around 1838 I have him married to Louisa Westwood.
Rhoda and Samuel Salt eventually left the Black Country for West Ham.
