Welcome to Rootschat but to search for relatives in Ireland you need to know where they lived (parish or townland not just the county or 'Ireland'). Civil registration of births started in 1864 so there will be no birth certificate for Francis and to find church records (if they exist) you need to know the family's religion and where they lived.
Are there any helpful details on his marriage or death certificates?

Hi there!Like Aghadowey has said, you will need a little more info on Francis of where he may have come from in Ireland,I see you have him on the Co Westmeath boards,do you think he came from Westmeath?I looked at Griffith's Valuation for Co Westmeath & there are only two with the name Hoey listed - parish Killuncan place name Kinnegad & parish Ballymore place name Calliaghstown,of course this may mean nothing.Regards Nipy

as Iam a beginner your advice is welcomed. Only family info we have re Francis Hoey is that he was born Longford or Westmeath his father was supposedly David. His mother may have been called Bridget as was his wife. His descen'ts are  mainly living in and around Adelaide South Australia. Francis is my Great g father.

Hello Crow,Ive been looking around to see if I can find any links for you but no luck yet !! Ah I though crow eater was the nickname the family had gave to your Great Grandfather as he had come from Ireland & one of life's treats back then  in Ireland when times were hard was crow & rook pie, don't sounds much of a treat now, regards Nipy
