Valentine Family From Montrose

Hi,

I'm not really sure if I am looking in the correct area or where to look for information, really. I'm trying to help my bother-in-law find out some more information on his dad's family.

The information we have already is pretty sketchy. All he knows is that his dad was a fairground worker called Keith Valentine(or could be Valentyne) who came from Montrose, in Scotland. Keith will be roughly 51/52 now and came to work in West Yorkshire on the fairground in the summer of 1975.

If anyone could please help with any information, that would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Katie,
This might be a starting point for you.

On ScotlandsPeople*, there are 7 births of Keith Valentine (using Soundex) from 1855 until 1975.

One was born 1958 in Montrose, (Keith Raymond Valentine) - that would make him 50 (sorry, that's obvious!)
You could order a copy of the birth record for £10.

If this is the correct man, the birth record should give you parents names and ages and other snippets of info that will help you find out more about the family.
