Can some kind person please look up the obituary notice for:

Donald Ross, died 26 January 1925 Napier Rd, Palmerston North. Buried 28 Jan 1925 Terrace end.

Esther Ross, died 28 Dec 1927, Napier Rd after drowning herself, buried 30 Dec 1927

Thanks for your help. I have the cemetery details but hoping someone has access and time to go to the PN Library and look up the main manawatu paper of the day.

Manawatu Evening Standard 27 Jan 1925

Page 1, Column 1

Ross - On Jan 26th 1925 at his late residence on Napier Rd, Palmerston North, Donald, beloved husband of Esther Ross, aged 85 years.

Page 5, Column 1

The death took place last evening of Mr Donald Ross, a resident of Napier Road, palmerston North. Born in Sutherlandshire, Scotland, the deceased was in his 86th year. A pioneer of Southland, he arrived at Dunedin by the ship William David in 1867. Deceased leaves a family of our (sic) sons and six daughters.

Sorry, ran out of time for Esther, will try and get her next week

EXCELLENT Thanks Anne

Getting an arrival date and boat is just a huge bonus!
Esther may not have much of a notice as she drowned her self in a water tank after the tragic death of her daughter on the railway crossing in PN.
so suicides were prob hushed up
Thanks in any case that is another step forward in the puzzle
