hello there,
would be grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction.
trying to find out about my two gt gt uncles, i would like to know if they served in ww1 and did they have any children.
they are james w. warburton aged 8 in 1881 and john A. warburton aged 5 in 1881
ther parents were james and sarah Ann(vagg) warburton.
in 1881 they were living at 11, daisy street, Hulme, manchester.
any help would be much appreciated indeed.
regards
james

Hi James
James' middle name was William? What was John's - Albert or Alfred?
Do you have them on the 1891 or 1901 Census
Cheers AMBLY

hi AMBLY.
James middle name was indeed William and just realised he was my great grand father, so i know a bit about his children etc, but know nothing about John A. Warburton.
i know that their father had a brother called John Alfred so he may have been named after him.
i have them on an 1881 census taken from a site called family search house hold records which i must have downloaded a few years back so don't know how accurate it is.
cheers
james

hi ther, many thanks for that info indeed. everything seems right with the james w. and john alfred with regards to age etc, but it says john warburton head aged 38, but he would have been 36 in 1881.
is it possible a miss print regarding the fathers age? because as you say in the 1881 it says he was born in manchester which as far as i know is correct
regards
james

hi everyone, many thanks indeed to all of you for all the info, excellent!!!!!!!!
i have a feeling patrexjax, that the john Alfred warburton you found is indeed the one I'm looking for, unfortunate he died at such an early age, so there will be a story in ther also to discover at some point in time. so once again big thanks to everyone!!! going to sit back now and digest all the info i have been given.
would also like to thank helana for all the info she sent me on James and John's mothers side of the family (sarah Ann vagg) and the warburton family as-well.
big thanks to you all, and no dought i shall be back when i have taken everything in that was sent me with even more questions.
regards
James
