Hi
I'm researching my Nanna's side of the family and have found 2 sisters that nobody knew she had. She never spoke of them when she was living and neither my Mother or her two living sisters know anything about them. Their names were Frances Langdale and her sister was called Marion. Frances was born in 1887 and Marion in 1898, both in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
I have them both in the 1901 census, when they were 14 and 3 years respectively. Frances was a Boot Machinist. My question is, how can I find out anything further about them. I've gone through the deaths up until 1924 for Marion (by which time she would have been 26 yrs old and could have been married), so I know she didn't die as a child. Apart from going through the deaths and marriages year by year for both of them, has anyone any ideas of a quicker way of finding them. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Busybod

Thanks Jen
Are you local to the area you are researching in?? Would it be possible for you to visit the local records office, you may find all sorts of interesting information from a marriage certificate, witnessess and hopefully a father's name

You can also look at Yorkshirebmd here http://www.yorkshirebmd.info/
There is nothing, marriages or deaths, for Marion but she could have moved away from the area.
Anyway it is a useful site for Leeds area

freebmd isn't complete. It's all done by volunteers and at present some records are only up to 1930 and also some are much earlier. If you look on their website it will tell you how the coverage is going.
If you want to order certificates online, go here http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ where they are £7 (don't go through ancestry or anywhere else)
They are the same price, but with postage, from your local office. The local offices have different index references as well, so they are not interchangeable.
When you order from gro tick on the first page that you have the gro index, and on the third page only fill in the red starred bits.
