Hi all,

I am seeking any information that  may be out there regarding my 2 x Great Grandfather.

I would particulary like to find out who his parents were.

I have him in every census from 1871 as he was by then in Wales.

He seemed to alternate between John  and Joseph in some documents  Huh, but always stated that he was born C1830 in Launceston Cornwall.

Given that Stevens is reasonably common, and that he alternates his first name, it would help to get his marraige certificate.
Joseph Stevens june qtr 1868 Newport M vol 11a pg 243 with Mary Ann Parfitt on the same page.

At least then you'll have a father's name to work from.

I can see 2 Josephs baptised around the time and there will be more Johns. The Joseph baptised in the Wesleyan church in 1831, son of Josiah, I think can be eliminated as he's a medical student in 1851.
