Brothers Bernard Mulloy and Michael Patrick Malloy Philadelphia
« on: Monday 24 November 08 17:36 UTC (UK) »

Looking to find out what happened to my great grandfather Bernard Mulloy and Michael Patrick Malloy.  Bernard emigrated to 2040 N Reese St Philadelphia pa in 1912 on the ships records he was going to stay with his brother Michael Patrick Malloy born  1874 Meenavally Ardara Donegal, he fought in the Spanish American Civil War from 1899-1901 company C Regiment 28 volunteers died 1963 and us buried in Burlington National Cemetry New Jersey.  The last address I have for Bernard is Simpson Pa, I think he must have died in this district in the early 1930s, I am looking for death certificates for both men and any other imformation that can be found

If anybody can find out anything I would be most grateful

Kind regards Jane

Simpson, PA is located NE of Scranton about 20 miles.  It should show up on googlemaps.

I found this obituary, which might be a son of one of your ancestors.  The location is SW of Scranton, about 40 miles, so it is still in the same vicinity.

This area is really not part of Philadelphia.  It is NW of Philly, about 130 miles.  It is usually referred to as the Wilkes Barre/ Scranton area--a mining area.

Did you notice on the above obituary that the mother's name was Anne DUFFY?  On your other post, one of the witnesses to Bernard's naturalizations is a Dennis DUFFY of Scranton.  I wonder if that could be Anne's brother or father?
