Hi Monica
thanx once more I guess that Helen was Nellie. I have a obituary I kept from an Inverness Courier a few years on one of the Reids he would have been a son of Helen/Nellie so I can use the information in that as well. Thanks again.

Reason I couldnt find anything looking in wrong place Moray not Banffshire. Following some of your ideas I did a google and found excel worksheet of all the census for the Cabrach area posted by someone on Rootschat. spent the whole night looking through it and there seems to be definite links between his family and mine. Also found at last granda's birth certificate. you were right twas him on the 11th April I am sure.

The other thing to remember when you are doing your searches on your counties is that up to 1891ish Cabrach (as I have now learnt in recent days) was included as a parish in Aberdeenshire. After this date, with boundary changes, it was incuded in Banffshire.

Not sure how far you have got back on the Mc(K)Andie line but if you look at that link posted by Lynn you will find Annie's parents details including death information. I searched for McKandie.

Sounds like you are off and away now Wilma  Smiley

It's not just quite as simple as that. Until 1891 Cabrach was partly in the county of Aberdeen and partly in the County of Banff. See
