I am searching for a birth cert. for Gerald Davies Humphreys.  He died in 1918 in district of Chelsea North.  He was married in 1888, in Thornton Heath to Florence Aimee Snell.  They had at least 3 children: Frederick (d.1915) Doris and Herve (b.1889, d.1944 in Vancouver, BC, Canada).

I can't seem to find his (Gerald's) birth. He did go to Grenada in 1898 with wife and elder son then returned to England in 1903, alone!

Any help in finding his birth and even his divorce from FLorence would be fabulous!

Also can't find Florence's death - but that's another story!

Hi Lorraine

His age was registered as 52, Gerald D HUMPHREYS - so born abt 1866.

The 1891 Census has him as born in the West Indies (of which Grenada is part)
Was his father "Military"?

I have no idea about Gerald's father other than his name was George and mother was Catherine.  I have not seen this entry in the census - I should look more closely!

My next move, I think is to find out if Gerald was born in the West Indies ... any ideas as to where to start?

There isn't a West Indies Board so try posting a message in the common room asking for West Indies help.

I'm back and still searching for Gerald Davies Humphreys.  No luck in Grenada.  No luck at the hospital where he died ("they have no record of him").  Help!!
Where do I go from  here?
