Eugene and Catherine married in the parish of St Mary's Drogheda on 12 July 1870.

Michael Callaghan was born in the same parish on 29 May 1871.

As I said, civil registration of births started in 1864. There should be a birth certificate available for Michael (born 1870) but not for his parents (born before 1864).

Any ideas where I can look for information on St Mary's Drogheda?

I have googled the name but I haven't been able to find anything on the parish.

Drogheda's in County Louth but it looks like someone else had a problem finding St. Mary's before:

My contact tells me that the parish register doesn't give any more details on the marriage of Eugene and Catherine.  Looks like the priest was lazy Angry

I've asked her to look up Eugene and Catherine's births for me.

All I need is a little information and I can carry on with the research myself.

Another thing puzzling me is why I can't find Eugene and Catherine on the 1901 Irish census Huh

I now know that Eugene Callaghan died aged 56 on 15 June 1888 in the district of St Mary's, Drogheda.

He would have been born about 1832 but I can't find his birth anywhere.

There will be no birth certificate so you will need to search for church records (if they exist).

I know there won't be a birth certificate.

I need someone to help me find his baptism.

I was hoping to find something online but there doesn't seem to be anything.

I'm having the same trouble with his wife Catherine Whelan.
