I have an ancestor, John Grindlay, AKA Grindley, born in Airth in between 1811-1816 and by 1851, living with his wife's family, James Cowan, in Larbert...both in Stirlingshire.
I have been on Scotland's people looking for a record of John Grindlay's birth, but with no result. I did get John Grindlay's marriage extract from Dec.1834, but these do not give a complete record with the names of the parents...so I am stymied.
Has anyone got any info. on the parish records for Airth? As I live in London, it is a long way to go!
Any advice welcome
