STAUNTON Family
« on: Friday 29 December 06 17:50 UTC (UK) »

I am trying to research the Staunton family who originated from the Tarrington, Dormington, Preston Wyne and latterly Ledbury areas. So far I've  managed to go back to Andrew Staunton bn 1819, and most of his descendants since then, however would love to hear from anyone who knows  the name!  My Staunton men all seemed to have been either stone masons or builders if this helps!

Sharon - Andrew Staunton

I think you may be referring to my great grandfather who was born in Tarrington in September 1815. He married Sarah Woodyett on 10 May 1853. Sarah was born in Preston Wyne. They are both burried in the Churchyard at Weston Beggard - Andrew died 7 JUne 1896 and Sarah 29 December 1913. Their children were - Eunice, John, Elizabeth, James, William, Henry (my grandfather), Charles and George. If this ties up with the information you have I can go back a further 5 generations. Please let me know!

Hi Roy,
Thank you for your reply, and yes we are definately related !... My family stems from Andrew and Sarahs (my gt gt grandparents )  son -  "Andrew" James who married Elizabeth Ann Bell (originally from Hartlepool). They in turn had a daughter - Millicent - who married Arthur Pardoe and became my grandparents!
I have done some digging with regard to where my Nans Aunts, Uncles and cousains may have ended up  - as I still have elderly relatives living who were interested! - so I think I may know a little about your side of the family...
Its really exciting to hear from someone out of the blue like this... and I would love to know anything else you can tell me..
Perhaps you could get in touch via my email address....  (*)....
Look forward, very much,  to hearing from you..
Best wishes - Sharon
p.s I have also been in touch with one of Eunices relations....
