Kris and all other very clever people in these forums
I have recently been tracking my Great Grandad's side of the family through Elizabeth Morrish and have to say I'm overjoyed with the info I have to date.
I have now turned a little of my attention to my Great Grandad's wife but the detail I have is sketchy. I know this so far....
Reginald Morris (1900) = Dorothy Opie (??) in 1922 in St Column 5c 235
I believe Dorothy had one sister and 2 brothers. They are Edna, Edgar and Gerald. I also think that her father was called Charles and mother Bertha (maybe Elizabeth?).
Both of the two sentences above though are from my Grandad's memory rather than substantiated. My Dad also tells me that Dorothy was born and brought up in Peranwell.
So really I'm stuck as to where to look because the census info is abviously not available yet. I also know they spent many of their years in Newquay. As that where I recollect seeing them.
Any ideas about any info for the Opie side would be much appreciated. Obviously would love to get as much info as I can before heading down the certificate route as that could be costly.
Thanks team
Paul.

Would Perranwell come under the Falmouth District ?
If so, theres Edgars and Geralds born early 1900, but the Dorothy and Edna are 2nd forenames ?
Can you comment on the likelihood that Dorothy was preferred to Fred ?

looking around on the 1901 census isnt helping (other than to show that Perranwell is in the Civil Parish of Perranarworthal - Falmouth District) There are no marriages in the locality for a Charles, altho there is an obvious candidate in the immediate area ...
1901 - RG13; Piece: 2225; Folio: 79; Page: 2 - Perranarworthal
Charles b1878, Perranarworthal, son of John (an Ironmoulder) and Emma
Even if other records are transcribed (PRs etc) I think that for the very small cost involved, the Marriage Cert whose refn you have would be a good investment and prevent wandering off down a red herring route

however, drilling down deeper, that chap in the 1901 shown as Charles - his birth is registered as Arthur Charles, and look at who he marries

Thanks for your reply.
I can't get hold of anyone to ask at the moment, but I do seem to remember someone mentioning the name Fredrica in relation to her in the past. I think you are right and she used her middle name, but I will double check.
You are right the birth certificate could be a good investment. Will have a ponder about when to get it as just ordered others for the Morrish side and this could become an expensive project !!
What do you have relating to the Fredrica Dorothy that you uncovered ?
Just spotted your next post - wow ! That's a stunning piece of Inspector Morse going on there !
Thanks again,
Paul.

I would still get the 1922 in St Columb 5c 235 Cert - it will confirm if the info you have about her Father is correct, and then you really need the 'Bertha' marriage below to confirm that Arthur Charles' dad is John ....
