Nuns Aberdeen 1894
« on: Sunday 30 November 08 15:42 UTC (UK) »

Hi Folk's,

Once again I would like to ask for some help.  My husbands granny was sent to a home in Aberdeen in 1894 after her parents had died.  I have checked out Nazerath House and after extensive research from a researcher there, we have concluded taht she was not there.  All we know is that she was sent to be brought up by the Nuns in Aberdeen at the age of 11 in 1894.  She entered 'Domestic' work in Aberdeen, apparently to someone called 'Lord Maxwell'.  She was back in Edinburgh by 1901, as she is listed with her paaternal grandmother and married by 1904.

Anyone got any suggestions as to Where she may have been placed with the nuns or who Lord Maxwell may have been.....another mystery....

regards
Lynda
